I start by posing the garment in a sketch to get an idea of how it’ll be worn. These are all poses you’ll find in ice climbing, so the garment will need to accommodate them.

Then it’s time to bring it into CLO3D! Here are the final renderings. I drafted the pattern from scratch onto a mannequin with my exact measurements.

Here I’ve printed the 1:1 pattern onto 36”x48” paper. Then traced onto Polartec Power Grid grid fleece (blue) and Polartec Power Shield softshell (pink)
